Alibaba Cloud launches two data centres in UK.

Oct 23, 2018 (China Knowledge) - Alibaba Cloud has launched two data centres in the United Kingdom yesterday, as the company plans to expand its services globally.

Chinese technology giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd launched its cloud-computing arm, Alibaba Cloud in 2009. The Cloud has since become the top public cloud vendor in China. The company is also ranked third globally as an infrastructure-as-a-service provider, behind Amazon and Microsoft, according to research firm Gartner.

Alibaba Cloud started expanding its services globally in 2014, with data centres operating globally in 19 regions such including Japan, the Middle East and, now, the United Kingdom. The company now operates 52 availability zones in these regions.

The UK data centres will offer 24/7 on-site support for services such as elastic computing, storage and database capabilities.
