Liu Xiaoyuan is a self-taught lawyer at the Beijing Yitong Law Firm. On his blog, he introduces himself as being proficient in managing contract disputes.

One person on the Internet claims that Liu is “outstanding in his professionalism.” He argued on behalf of the victim in the “one life, one price” case of Beijing’s first traffic accident, helping the respondent, a relative of the victim who was a farmer, win 470,000 RMB in compensation. In contrast, only half a year earlier, a respondent had only won 170,000 RMB because he was a farmer.

Liu is the biggest blogger in Chinese law circles. In three years, he has registered over 20 blogs using his real name and he has written over 800 blog entries. He has received over 2.3 million hits on his Phoenix (http://blog.ifeng.com/721122.html) and Sohu blogs (http://liu6465.blog.sohu.com/), and over 1 million hits on his Fatianxia (http://www.fatianxia.com/people/1404 ) and Sina blogs(http://blog.sina.com.cn/u/1239085290). In 2008, he won the “Best Chinese Blog Award” in Deutsche Welle’s International Blog Competition.

From the amount of information and its quality, it would not be an exaggeration to say that Liu’s blog is like a legal news agency.
