On March 20, artist Cheng Li held a participatory performance art exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Songzhuang, Beijing entitled “Sensitive Zone”, where he exhibited a piece of work entitled Selling Pussy Artistically, a piece that encompassed the artist and a woman having live sexual intercourse in the exhibition space.
Both were taken away by police after the performance was finished. Lawyer Wang Zhenyu confirmed that Cheng Li has been punished with a year’s Re- education through labour (RTL) by Beijing authorities...
