Embezzlement Cases Increased 15.3% and 99.9% Defendants Received Guilty Verdicts in First Half of 2012

During the first half of 2012, procuratorates nationwide investigated into 30,694 abuse-of-power cases, a 15.3% increase as compared to 2011. 13,044 criminal suspects were prosecuted, an increase of 29% as compared to 2011, with 10,675 of the suspects, i.e. 99.9% of them, receiving guilty verdicts after trials.
