Hong Kong Stock Connect: RMB 1.2 bln net inflow into Mainland China, top gainer food & beverage attracted RMB 671 mln.

Apr 23, 2020 (China Knowledge) - Yesterday Shanghai Composite Index closed up 0.6% at 2843.98, and over at Shenzhen the main benchmark index rose 1.05%, both trading volumes totaled RMB 606 bln, down 6.67% from the previous trading day. The turnover value transacted via the Hong Kong Stock Connect amounted to RMB 58.7 bln, or 9.69% of the Mainland exchanges' total trading.

Through the stock connect program investors from Hong Kong long RMB 29.9 bln of A-shares, and short RMB 28.8 bln, resulting a net inflow of RMB 1.2 bln. Of all the qualified 1,288 A-shares on this program, there were 825 gainers, 394 losers, and 69 remained unchanged.
