Hunan Babies “Confiscated” by Government and Sold to Europe and America

Officials of Longhui County and Dongkou County in Shaoyang City, Hunan Province, were accused of confiscating “illegitimate” (referring to children of unmarried parents, children violating the One Child Policy, children inconsistent with adoption regulations, and even legally adopted children) infants and sending them to Shaoyang’s Social Welfare Home of Shaoyang City and changing their last names to “Shao”, under the basis of collecting social maintenance fees and violating the One Child Policy. Thereafter, the Social Welfare Home colluded with traffickers, deemed the confiscated babies as “unwanted babies,” and sent them abroad for foreign adoption; all for the purpose and intent of profit.
