China to Improve Standards for Land Compensation Next Year

The Ministry of Land and Resources of the PRC issued a notice on November 14 requiring that the principle of “same land, same price” be applied to expropriated land when making reasonable compensation to farmers. According to an involved official from the Department of Farmland Protection, the new policy will improve the standards for compensating farmers for land taken from them.
