Shanghai Invites Undercover Appraisers To Monitor Public Prosecutors

On March 30, Shanghai’s People’s Procuratorate invited 17 municipal and district People’s Congress Representatives, 10 members of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and 4 city residents to serve as the inaugural undercover judging appraisers. Seven of the 31 appraisers have law-related profession. Until the end of October this year, they may appear in court at any time to appraise the performance of a public prosecutor.
