Kingsoft Corporation Sues Zhou Hongwei for Defamation

On May 25, 2011, Zhou Hongwei, President and CEO of Qihoo 360 Technology Co. Ltd, published 24 micro-blog posts to reveal inside stories of Kingsoft Corporation, which caused a drop in the market value of Kingsoft Corporation by $600 million. On December 6, Kingsoft Corporation sued Zhou for defamation in the Beijing Haidian District People’s Court, for compensation of 12 million RMB.
