The plaintiffs, Zhu Zhenmao and All-China Environmental Federation, alleged that the defendant, Jiangyin Harbor Container Ltd. Co., caused iron dust pollution during their port operation processes, and discharged unprocessed red effluent directly into sewer. The unprocessed effluent was then discharged into YangTze River through Huangtian harbor, and has affected the safety of residential drinking water.
