Sichuan Province Neijiang City government revealed in the online report entitled “Neijiang City Public Security Bureau Achieved Remarkable Success in Increasing the Efforts in Its Work of Managing and Monitoring Key Internet Users” how the local PSB monitored and controlled key internet users.

The report said “the local PSB set up special projects of internet investigation and control for “Type A” internet activists. Different methods were adopted in order to carry out the work of investigation; long-term methods of control were also employed to restrict “Type A” internet activists’ online activities. For “Type B” internet users, necessary online investigating and monitoring measures were undertaken – they were treated as major targets of control.
