Lawyer Liu Shihui Exposed Tortured Interrogation during His Disappearance

A Guangzhou lawyer Liu Shihui was accused of “inciting subversion of state power” and was subjected to “residential surveillance” for 108 days from February 25 to June 12. On August 21, Liu Shihui disclosed his experience during the disappearance on Twitter.

On February 20 this year, Liu Shihui announced on Twitter that he was to participate in the Jasmine Assembly. On his way to the Assembly, several people beat him to foot fracture. Around two o’clock in the morning of February 25, the police came raiding his house, taking him and his Vietnamese wife away.
