Southen China Metropolitan News to Expose China’s Widespread Secret Black Jails

The Southern Weekend, a weekly newspaper based in Guangzhou, China recently has published a series of reports, which revealed widespread secret black jails are used to detain petitioners in Hubei, Shangdong, Shaanxi and Jiangsu provinces. According to Liu Jinzhu, who was jailed in a secret black jail in Laohekou City of Hubei province called “the Legal Education Class” and controlled by the local government after being kidnapped while petitioning in Beijing, he was not allow to talk, to visit other detainees, even was monitored when he went to bathroom during his detention. He was reprimanded and beaten at any time and furthermore, he was forced to write a letter of guaranty and sign his name on a document with a statement that who will not engage in any petition and lawsuit in the future.
