Tencent to launch intelligent connected vehicle.

Oct 23, 2018 (China Knowledge) - 2018 World Autonomous Vehicle Ecosystem Conference was held in Beijing, last week. Tencent's Pony Ma participated in the conference, and updated about the progress on Tencent's development of intelligent connected vehicle (ICV).

Ma said Tencent is developing vehicle-mounted WeChat, considering adopting the full-voice interactive mode to receive and send WeChat messages, and combining with vehicle-mounted hardware to realize the safe sending and receiving of messages via the buttons on steering wheel.

Tencent is also considering to design user status tips that can be easily converted to WeChat calls when sending and receiving messages. In the meantime, the car owner can let his friends know about the whereabouts of the car. For safe driving, voice interaction can also help owners with map navigation settings.
