Watsons to integrate 2,500 new online stores with Ele.me.

Oct 23, 2018 (China Knowledge) - Alibaba's food delivery arm, Ele.me has entered a partnership with Hong Kong's Watsons Personal Care Stores to sell Watson's products to its users across China.

Watsons has already selected 1,700 products to be sold on Ele.me, with another 2,500 stores to go on the platform by the end of the year. 1,600 of Watsons beauty and healthcare shops have already taken steps to integrate online and offline shopping to give its customers a better spending experience.

The partnership between Watsons and Ele.me started back in July when both were looking for avenues for new retail and piloted online shops in Guangzhou. The new partnership seeks to capitalize on the upcoming Double Eleven shopping festival on November 11.

Watsons had previously partnered with Alibaba's Tmall and Cainiao Network to deliver its products to clients living in a three-kilometer radius of 200 of its shops within 2 hours. The partnership with Ele.me hopes to bring the delivery time down to just 1 hour.
